Backed by powerhouse investors like Telescope Partners, Blackstone, Elefund, and Permira, we’re growing fast—and we want you to be part of it.

Your Mission: At Engine, we’re transforming the travel experience through innovation, speed, and precision—and we know our people are at the heart of it.

As the Director, HR Business Partnership, your mission is to align our people strategy with Engine’s business strategy as we scale. You’ll partner directly with senior leaders across the enterprise on organizational effectiveness, leadership development, and holding the bar for a high-performance culture. You have a bias for action and comfort with speed, ambiguity, and change—you thrive in a high-velocity mission-first environment. You’ll be both a strategic advisor and an operational leader, helping us attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expert: Proven track record of successfully aligning people strategy with business goals across a broad range of function
  • End to End HRBP Strategy: A strategic mindset grounded in execution—you can see around corners to anticipate needs and also roll up your sleeves to drive execution
  • Leadership and Talent Density: A proven ability to coach executives and leaders, helping them hold a high bar for performance and culture. Passion for building high-performing teams and cultures, comfortable providing direct feedback and ‘saying the hard thing’ to push our ways of thinking and working
  • Operational Excellence: Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, leading change management and guiding organizations through growth and transformation
  • Executive Stakeholder Partnership: Exceptional communication skills with a high degree of judgment, landing nuanced messages and successfully influencing the right business outcomes
  • Data Obsessed: A proactive, data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making. Strong analytical and systems-thinking capabilities—you use data to tell stories, identify risks, and drive outcomes

What You'll Bring:

  • Leadership Experience: 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in an HRBP role supporting high-growth tech companies. You have led and developed a high-performing HRBP team, including setting priorities, coaching, and performance management
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience partnering closely with C-level and VP+ leaders in Engineering, Product, or GTM functions
  • Ability to Scale: Proven success leading through organizational scaling, rapid headcount growth, or transformational change
  • Data Driven Mindset: Expertise in core HR areas: org design, talent planning, performance enablement, compensation, and employee relations
  • HR Tools: Strong familiarity with SaaS or platform business models a plus

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
