Job Description

Position Summary:

The Engagement Manager – EMR Integrations is a role that combines deep technical expertise in EMR systems with strong project management capabilities. This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of EMR integration projects—from planning and implementation to training and post-go-live support. The Engagement Manager serves as the primary liaison between clients, internal teams, and vendors, ensuring that integrations are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and align with clinical workflows. This is a hands-on role that requires both technical problem-solving and project management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead EMR integration projects across hospital and large clinic environments, managing timelines, resources, and client expectations.

  • Act as both the project manager and technical lead combining workflow design, build coordination, and client training.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including workflows, configurations, test plans, and implementation timelines - in alignment with project management best practices

  • Translate clinical workflow needs into technical EMR configurations, ensuring alignment with both client requirements and internal systems.

  • Deliver on-site go-live support, including hands-on training and elbow support for clinical staff (when necessary).

  • Troubleshoot EMR interface issues, coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal technical teams to resolve them quickly and effectively.

  • Monitor post-implementation utilization and proactively work with clients to optimize EMR performance and ordering efficiency.

  • Gather feedback from clients and stakeholders, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and product enhancements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, Clinical IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent experience.

  • 1-3 years of experience working with EMR systems, including at least 1 years of project management in a healthcare setting.

  • Strong knowledge of Epic (Aura experience is a plus).

  • One active Epic Aura related certification required i.e. Epic Beaker, Ambulatory, or Inpatient Orders highly preferred.

  • Background in laboratory, clinical, or health IT environments preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with a high level of quality and stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools, especially Excel and Google Sheets; Salesforce experience preferred.

  • PMO certification is a plus.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • High emotional intelligence and customer service orientation.

  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Highly organized and able to juggle competing priorities with professionalism and composure.

  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to clearly capture processes, decisions, and project updates.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Primarily remote with frequent travel (up to 25%) for client engagements, go-lives, and/or training.

  • May require occasional work during evenings or weekends to support critical implementations.

  • Daily use of a computer and virtual communication tools; must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in digital formats

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
