Cribl is seeking a highly experienced and passionate technologist to join our team as a Field CTO & Strategic Advisor. This strategic role will play a pivotal role in extending Cribl's leadership in Observability (O11y) and Security Operations (SecOps) solutions at the account level.
In this role, you have the ability to make a great impact. You'll be shaping customer technical strategy and Cribl's product roadmap through a blend of technical expertise, delivery experience and market insights. You'll not only foster strong relationships with customers and partners - you'll become a trusted advisor and champion Cribl's vision. And you will collaborate across the organization to drive successful customer outcomes and propel Cribl's continued growth!
As An Active Member Of Our Team, You Will...
- The role will cover 4 pillars, with the goal of extending Cribl leadership at the account level with prospects and customers
- Market Trends - O11y and SecOps Contributor, Competitors, Technologies
- Exec Communications - Cribl strategy and product vision
- Technical Expertise - Deep Dive on technical standards, protocols, products
- Industry Practices - O11y and SecOps Practices, Organizational structures, and processes
- Leverage your experience leading and transforming teams to guide customers in achieving their O11y and SecOps goals
- Employ various methodologies (Agile, Design Thinking, etc.) to navigate change initiatives and ensure successful adoption of data and analytics solutions
- Develop a deep understanding of customer strategies, objectives, and technical needs to drive successful implementations
- Advocate for customer needs, collaborating with product management and other teams to ensure alignment and address critical situations
- Maintain a strong reputation as a technical expert in O11y and SecOps
- Build and nurture relationships across all levels – from customer executives to internal teams – to achieve business objectives
- Motivate and lead virtual teams to deliver on strategic goals
- Leverage your data and technology expertise to formulate innovative market strategies alongside Cribl product teams
- Provide expert guidance and support to Cribl regional leadership
- Offer timely insights to product management, marketing, and other corporate functions
- We are a remote-first company and work happens across many time-zones – you may be required to occasionally perform duties outside your standard working hours

- Strong executive presence and communication skills
- Proven ability to build relationships with key technical decision-makers
- In-depth understanding of the benefits and challenges associated with implementing data analytics, security, and observability solutions
- Solid grasp of technical, competitive, and regulatory trends in relevant industries
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within expert teams
- Appreciation for the human aspects of organizational change alongside technical expertise
- Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing
- Proven collaborative mindset
- Comfort in coaching and empowering others with your technical and leadership knowledge
- Nice-to-Haves (50%+):
- Experience in technical leadership with P&L or budget ownership
- History of influencing policy or regulations within an organization or industry
- 5+ years of experience building and delivering products/services for customers
- Proven ability to develop and implement technical strategies, delivery systems, and policy frameworks
- In-depth expertise within a specific technical discipline (Cyber Security, IT Operations, DevOps, Observability, etc.)
- Experience with public speaking (presentations, podcasts, webinars) and creating thought leadership content (blogs, ebooks)
- Bonuses:
- Track record of securing executive buy-in for major technology or business transformation initiatives
- Expertise in advanced data analytics or other emerging technologies
- Knowledge of Cribl, its technical capabilities, and typical use cases
Salary Range ($220K - $280)
The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location. The salary offered within the range described will be based on the individual candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, Cribl also offers a generous benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance, paid holidays and paid time off, a fertility treatment benefit, 401(k), equity, and eligibility for a discretionary company-wide bonus.
