Business Operations Manager – Product Growth

About the Role

The Business Operations Manager – Product Growth at Motive is a high-impact individual contributor role positioned at the intersection of Business Operations, Product-led Growth, and Go-to-Market strategy. In this capacity, you’ll lead pivotal growth experiments, oversee product rollouts, conduct data-driven investigations, and execute operational initiatives that drive measurable new Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR). Expect a dynamic, cross-functional work environment where adaptability, resourcefulness, and comfort with ambiguity are key to daily success. This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated generalist to play a tangible role in accelerating Motive’s growth trajectory.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive and manage cross-functional business growth initiatives and experiments, closely collaborating with Product, Strategic Analytics, Go-to-Market (GTM), Sales, Marketing, and Product Marketing Management teams.
  • Conduct analytical investigations and data analysis to uncover insights, measure experiments, and recommend scalable solutions supporting business and product growth.
  • Lead and execute end-to-end product rollouts, including scope definition, cross-team alignment, hands-on delivery, and post-launch performance measurement.
  • Proactively own projects from discovery through execution with minimal oversight, turning ambiguous business problems into defined, actionable work.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships across diverse functions to accelerate Motive’s high-growth journey.
  • Translate operational actions and initiatives into measurable business value, with a direct focus on impacting new ARR.
  • Regular engagement with stakeholders across Product Management, Engineering Management, Strategic Analytics, and GTM leadership.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Rapid and measurable impact, as demonstrated by business growth, completed experiments, and new ARR.
  • Quick learning, adaptability to shifting priorities, and consistent delivery of projects to strong business outcomes.
  • Effective navigation and execution of ambiguous, open-ended business challenges.
  • Strong, trusted relationships built with cross-functional partners.

What We're Looking For:

  • 2–4 years out of college, with a strong generalist background.
  • Experience in business operations, consulting, banking, or business/product operations in tech settings.
  • Preferably from startup/smaller company environments, demonstrating an ability to “figure things out” in uncertain or ambiguous settings.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
