OKX is a leading crypto exchange, and the developer of OKX Wallet, giving millions access to crypto trading and decentralized crypto applications (dApps). OKX is also a trusted brand by hundreds of large institutions seeking access to crypto markets. We are safe and reliable, backed by our Proof of Reserves. Across our multiple offices globally, we are united by our core principles: We Before Me, Do the Right Thing, and Get Things Done. These shared values drive our culture, shape our processes, and foster a friendly, rewarding, and diverse environment for every OK-er.

About the Opportunity

The Head of Crypto Policy role is a critical one that will help stand up and shape a newly created function at OKX -- the successful candidate would be able to help build a "start up" department within a global exchange leader in the crypto ecosystem. This position requires a good understanding of how policy is made both in the US and abroad, and a passion for the self-directed investment possibilities created by crypto and blockchain technology.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work within the legal function and collaborate with adjacent groups at OKX to track and inform the company about relevant legislative and regulatory developments affecting the business.
  • Partner with legal and business teams to project manage company efforts in responding to and commenting on legislative and regulatory policy developments, as well as conveying OKX’s policy preferences to policymakers.
  • Coordinate with the Global Head of Policy to implement a centralized repository and clearinghouse for policy initiatives affecting the company, and convene business stakeholders to drive adoption of company-wide policy positions.
  • Manage key trade association relationships on behalf of OKX to maximize membership value and influence those organizations to take positions aligned with OKX’s policy goals.

What We Look For In You

  • 8-15 years of experience with policymaking in the executive and/or legislative branches, and/or within a company in the financial services or crypto sectors.
  • Law degree useful but not required.
  • This role will be based in Washington, D.C. Candidates should either be located in, or able to commute from, a location within reasonable distance of Washington, D.C.

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive total compensation package.
  • L&D programs and Education subsidy for employees' growth and development.
  • Various team building programs and company events.
  • More that we love to tell you along the process!

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
