Ironclad is looking for a Head of Legal Operations to oversee the technology at the cornerstone of Ironclad’s success: Ironclad. The person in this role will be responsible for managing Ironclad@Ironclad and ensuring that we are not just leveraging our own technology, but that we are helping build the best technology for legal teams everywhere. They will manage our Ironclad instance by building and managing workflows that ensure that Ironclad scales with the company and improves our ability to seamlessly negotiate, execute, track and report on contracts. In partnership with the General Counsel, this person will also manage our Legal team’s involvement in product development and marketing, drive our contract metrics and analytics strategy, and manage the Legal Team’s budget. The Head of Legal Operations will also handle and oversee the bread-and-butter legal administrative work, including contracts management and administration, records retention, litigation and investigation support, data privacy programs, outside counsel onboarding, template drafting and development of Legal Team policies and procedures. This person will also serve as a thought leader among industry legal operations professionals and speak and post about best practices for implementing and leveraging Ironclad.
Responsibilities:
Own and manage the Ironclad@Ironclad program, including refining our processes for scale like automation in order form creation, self service, playbooks, conditional clauses, and management of template and workflow development and improvement
Partner with Deal Desk and Procurement to ensure seamless contracting process and to help build robust integrations with sales and purchasing technology
Manage Legal Team data analytics program and create regular reporting for business review cycles, including with respect to business value derived from Ironclad
Manage Legal Team budget
Host webinars and events and write thought pieces on legal operations, Ironclad workflows, and contract process improvements.
Project manage Legal Team initiatives.
Assist with the implementation and operation of Legal Department tools, including status reports, task tracking and project management tasks.
Assist with the implementation and tracking of new operational processes and services to align with procedures around data privacy, data deletion, and data governance.
Manage outside counsel onboarding and offboarding
Provide administrative support to the Legal team, including archiving, metadata validation, workflow troubleshooting and document management.
Requirements:
8+ years of experience working in a legal operations function, leveraging Ironclad.
Experience in, and a passion for, developing and implementing successful and scalable Ironclad workflows and managing Ironclad integrations with third party tools like Salesforce, Coupa, etc.
Experience implementing processes to scale legal review, like self service playbooks, automation in legal review, AI and more.
Experience with contracts administration and management.
Strong proficiency in data analytics and the ability to create visually compelling reports and presentations
Experience managing a legal team’s budget, including spend monitoring, forecasting and accrual monitoring, overseeing vendor management, and identifying cost saving opportunities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
Collaborative mindset and ability to build strong cross functional partnerships.
Strong execution skills and the ability to deliver to deadlines and manage competing priorities.
Strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Base Salary Range: $175,000 - $200,000
The base salary range represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position based at our San Francisco headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors, including individual proficiency, anticipated performance, and the location of the selected candidate. Our base salary is just one component of Ironclad’s competitive total rewards package, which also includes equity awards (a new hire grant, along with opportunities for additional awards throughout your tenure), competitive health and wellness benefits, and a commitment to career growth and development.
