Who you are:
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable or Revenue Operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of SaaS billing and collections processes.
- Advanced Excel and data reconciliation skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred:
- Experience in a high-growth, multi-entity environment (healthcare or software industry preferred).
- Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Exposure to payment application workflows across platforms (e.g., Ramp, Chase, Bill.com).
- Prior involvement in acquisition integration or ERP migration projects.
- Experience with AR systems such as Maxio (Chargify), Salesforce, Sage Intacct, and Bill.com.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- AR Operations & Process Ownership
- Oversee the full-cycle accounts receivable process including invoicing, collections, cash application, customer account reconciliation, and reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing across multiple products and revenue streams, including SaaS, professional services, and variable-fee RCM arrangements.
- Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Customer Success, Operations) to validate contract terms, customer setup, and billing triggers.
- Develop and enforce best practices to improve billing accuracy, reduce errors, and shorten invoice-to-cash timelines.
- Own documentation and implementation of AR policies, internal controls, and standard operating procedures aimed at reducing DSO.\
- Systems & Data Management
- Maintain and enhance invoicing and revenue workflows in Maxio/Chargify, Salesforce, and Sage Intacct to support clean and timely billing.
- Manage and optimize integrations between systems to ensure data integrity and alignment with revenue recognition standards.
- Collaborate with the Controller to streamline reporting, automate routine processes, and implement dashboards to monitor DSO trends and AR performance.
- Collections & Customer Communication
- Lead proactive and strategic collections efforts to reduce outstanding balances and improve cash flow.
- Analyze AR aging reports to identify root causes of delays and implement targeted actions to resolve issues.
- Establish and track customer payment behavior, set credit policies, and conduct risk assessments to inform collection prioritization.
- Build strong relationships with customer finance contacts and serve as the first point of escalation for AR-related issues to facilitate faster resolution and reduced DSO.
- Team Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise and mentor AR staff or contractors, setting clear expectations around timeliness, accuracy, and collections performance.
- Assist in onboarding and training new team members or accountants supporting AR, with an emphasis on DSO reduction strategies.
- Coordinate AR-related tasks during the month-end close, ensuring all receivables are recorded, reconciled, and reported in accordance with deadlines and DSO targets.
- Strategic Projects
- Support pricing and packaging initiatives by structuring SKUs and invoice logic in Maxio for greater invoice clarity and improved payment timeliness.
- Contribute to post-acquisition integration efforts by harmonizing AR processes and accelerating cash collection.
- Identify and execute on opportunities to improve billing transparency, enhance system data structures, and implement KPIs—including DSO monitoring—to drive operational improvement.
