Why it matters: The Account Manager will be responsible for managing client relationships, understanding client needs, and delivering exceptional service. As an Account Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact for our clients, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for account growth.

- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships. Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Account Renewal & Growth: Renew current agreements and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling new users, additional services and products. Develop and execute strategies to drive account growth and enhance client value.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve client issues or concerns promptly and effectively. Proactively identify potential challenges and implement solutions.
- Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients regarding project status, product updates and any other issues that may be relevant to the client. Provide regular updates and reports on account performance.
- Strategy Development: Work with clients to understand their business goals and develop strategies to align our services with their objectives. Conduct regular business reviews to assess performance and adjust strategies as needed. Attend industry events, Axios Pro events and in-person meetings to further develop those relationships.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, editorial, marketing, and product teams to ensure client needs are understood and met. Share insights and feedback from clients to help improve products and services.
- Administrative Duties: Manage account documentation, contracts, and renewal processes. Ensure all client information is accurately recorded and maintained in the CRM system. Be able to accurately forecast renewal pipeline and upsell opportunities.
The details: Ideal candidates will embody a collaborative spirit, revenue mindset, and passion for the Axios mission. This position requires the following:
- 3+ years of Account Manager experience working with individuals and companies within the Private Equity and Venture Capital space as well as M&A Advisors, Legal, Corporate and Consultancy professionals.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding renewal targets and driving revenue growth
- Customer-centric mindset with strong commercial instincts
- High proficiency in relationship building and relationship management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Ability to be adaptable and creative as the Axios Pro product and team grows
- Familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and other client management tools.
- Located near NYC is preferable
Starting salary for this role is in the range of $77,000 - $98,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
Note that the total compensation offered for this role includes incremental variable compensation based on sales territory, which is contingent upon the successful achievement of predetermined sales targets.
