About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Security Operations Manager to lead our Security Operations team. In this highly impactful position, you will guide a team responsible for the daily operational support and foundational security work of our Information Security program. This is an opportunity to directly influence the security posture of Pinterest, while overseeing a broad set of responsibilities, driving automation, and shaping security best practices at scale.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and Manage: Provide people leadership and coaching for the Security Operations team—supporting skill development, managing performance, and fostering a culture of quality and teamwork.
- Drive Daily Security Operations: Oversee and help resolve inbound requests via Slack and other channels; process change requests; manage cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS) and related tasks.
- Implement Security Policies: Set, enforce, and champion security policy and best practices across the company.
- Build and Refine Automation: Enhance operational efficiency by driving the development and adoption of automation tooling for security, policy enforcement, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Guide Security Architecture: Partner with stakeholders across engineering and product to inform and implement secure architectures and decisions.
- Be the Frontline: Offer technical support and guidance to employees, serving as a trusted resource and escalation point for operational and help desk security issues.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a people manager, leading security operations or related teams.
- Strong hands-on skills in AWS (especially S3, IAM, and EC2) and infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform).
- Practical experience in information security and operational/support environments.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth company environment.
- Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
