The Engineering Manager for the Notification Delivery Science team is a high impact role that owns a critical part of the growth funnel: user retention and re-engagement through highly relevant and timely Notifications. The team develops and maintains the ML Models powering the reliable, targeted and timely delivery of omni-channel Notifications (Push, Email, Widgets etc.). The ML-powered platform delivers billions of highly relevant and timely notifications to hundreds of millions of users worldwide. You will grow the metrics impact of the team, work with Product to set the overall Notification Delivery strategy, and influence the company’s user growth strategy.
What you’ll do:
- Manage and mentor a team of Machine Learning engineers, providing guidance and support to grow their careers. The team’s work directly contributes towards the company’s Growth goals.
- Develop and maintain ML models that make personalized and at-scale decisions for notifications budgeting, pacing, content portfolio and intelligent delivery timing.
- Help develop and shape Pinterest’s Notifications strategy.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, data scientists and product marketing managers.
What we’re looking for:
- Ph.D. with 5+ years or Masters with 6+ years of industry experience working on production machine learning systems at scale, including recommendation, search, growth and/or ads systems.
- 2+ years experience on managing ML engineering teams with 5+ engineers.
- Experience in partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to plan and deliver on business outcomes.
