The Opportunity: People Experience Specialist
Empower’s mission is powered by a virtual-first team from around the world. As a People Experience Specialist, your mission is to accelerate the learning and performance of our global team: making it easier for our employees to onboard, build relationships, find answers, and get things done. This role focuses on unlocking our team’s potential using moments that matter throughout the employee journey:
Kickstarting learning and team integration through onboarding experiences that set our teams up for success from day one
Breaking down siloes and strengthening global relationships through our semiannual company on-sites
Connecting employees to live and asynchronous information and tools they need to get the job done
You'll be the connector who ensures everyone has what they need to hit the ground running, from their first day on the job to when their planes land for our semiannual global on-sites. By thoughtfully designing for the employee experience, you'll help build a workplace where employees stay informed, connected, and equipped to do their best work.
How You'll Make an Impact
Deliver Incredible Experiences (50%): Orchestrate authentic IRL events that bring our teams closer together and advance our mission (with plenty of fun and outdoor activities!)
Accelerate Learning (20%): Design and implement a seamless onboarding experience that gets new hires up to speed and feeling connected from day one
Communicate at Scale (10%): Craft compelling internal communications and collateral that keep team members around the world in the loop without drowning in corporate speak
Develop Scalable Resources (10%): Launch, curate, and maintain organizational data, content, and programs that drive employee success and leverage AI effectively
Connect the Dots (10%): Identify and address needs throughout the employee lifecycle to ensure our team operates efficiently and our culture scales consistently as we grow
Why You're a Great Fit
You’re a quick study: you love figuring out how an organization works, and helping others do the same
You love the details: you sweat the “small stuff” in order to have big impact
You see around corners: you can think a couple steps ahead to anticipate others’ needs
You know what “great” looks like: you’ve planned or supported global events with 150+ attendees for at least 2 years
You are resourceful: you know when to build, when to buy, when to use AI, and when to go without when investing in our team
Your experience likely includes:
A degree in Business, Management, Human Resources, Communications, or a similar field
1-4 years of experience in HR, employee experience, communications, or event planning roles
Strong communication skills with the ability to craft messages that resonate across different channels and audiences
Exceptionally strong problem solving and project management skills; you thrive when you’re organizing chaos, untangling a mess, and juggling multiple priorities
Eagerness to learn new tools and workplace systems, including Rippling, Ashby, Linear or other project management tools, and emerging resources powered by AI
Don't meet every qualification? If you're excited about this challenge and driven to innovate, we still want to hear from you!
What You'll Get at Empower
Meaningful Ownership: Competitive salary and generous equity in a profitable, fast growing company.
Complete Support: 100% coverage for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus a generous WFH reimbursement.
High-Impact Teams: The chance to thrive in a small, focused team where your contributions directly shape outcomes for our business and customers.
Remote First: A virtual first environment built on trust and outcomes.
Team Connection: Twice-yearly company onsites where we come together to connect, learn, and build for the future (our last few have been in San Diego, Vail, and Flagstaff)!
Growth Path: Ongoing opportunities for development in a dynamic, supportive, and creative environment.

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
