About the Role

Instacart is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced People Technology Analyst (Integration Specialist) to support integrations, Workday Extend and reporting needs across the People Technology team. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to design and manage end-to-end integrations, develop and support custom applications using Workday Extend, support system enhancements, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize our HR and Recruiting technology stack.

This role is essential to ensuring seamless communication across our people systems, adhering to security standards, and enhancing reporting capabilities to support data-driven decisions. You will join a highly collaborative team dedicated to innovation and efficiency in People Operations.

This high-impact group offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with a wide variety of internal teams to shape new processes and deliver tailored solutions that support organizational growth and success.

About the Job

Integration/Extend Development and Maintenance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain end-to-end integration solutions across our HR and Recruiting systems.
  • Support new vendor integrations, ensuring compatibility and optimizing performance within Instacart’s technical landscape.
  • Provide ongoing development support for existing integrations, including design enhancements, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Develop new applications using extend and also support the existing ones.
  • Design, build, and maintain real-time integrations leveraging orchestration and Workday Public Webservices.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support:

  • Partner with functional analysts, internal IT, and Engineering teams to integrate systems and design scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather integration requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Work collaboratively with auditors and security leads to ensure system access and integration controls adhere to security and compliance standards.

Technical Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create and maintain technical design documentation, offering detailed specifications for workflows, integration logic, and reporting capabilities.
  • Design advanced reports (e.g., Workday composite and advanced reports) to deliver actionable insights for the People team.
  • Support audits and ensure system access is secure across the integration landscape.

Automation and Middleware Expertise:

  • Develop and optimize automations using middleware tools to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Utilize Workday Studio, SOAP, REST, XML, XSLT, and other scripting tools to enable seamless integrations and workflows.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in people systems integration development and support.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of HR technologies and integrations: Working knowledge of Workday Studio, APIs, XSLT, EIBs, and composite/advanced reporting.
    • Familiarity with scripting languages such as JavaScript, Ruby, or equivalent.
    • Demonstrated experience working on cross-functional projects
  • Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of Systems: Proven experience with HR and Recruiting systems, and a passion for leveraging technology to drive efficiency and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Working Knowledge of Workday Extend
  • Prior experience automating workflows within a middleware tool.
  • Demonstrable understanding of system access controls, audits, and compliance standards for people technologies.
  • A track record of success supporting complex HR systems in a high-growth or fast-paced environment.
