The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC. is seeking a skilled and motivated Remote CP Case Assistant VA to join our growing CP team. This position will report directly to the Immigration Department Supervisor. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of immigration law, particularly with family-based immigration matters and consular processing (CP), and be capable of making informed decisions regarding case management. A client-service-focused mindset, along with exceptional case management skills, is essential. The position will primarily focus on I-130 petitions and consular processing cases.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze case documents and prepare I-130 petitions for filing with the appropriate government agencies, focusing on consular processing.
- Communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural and case processing issues related to I-130 petitions and consular processing, assisting with the review and gathering of required documents.
- Oversee the status of I-130 consular processing cases using case management and billing systems, regularly running reports to track case progress and timelines.
- Follow firm intake procedures after a client retains our firm, ensuring all I-130-related documentation is accurate and properly entered into our case management system.
- Maintain both digital and physical files for all I-130 and consular processing cases, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with immigration laws.
- Provide clients with regular updates on the progress of their I-130 consular processing cases, ensuring transparency and clear communication throughout the process.
- Assist attorneys and other team members in managing I-130 case load, ensuring timely filings, managing client concerns, and coordinating with consulates as needed.
- Complete tasks and provide updates on the progress of I-130 consular processing cases, raising any issues to supervisors in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in immigration law, specifically with I-130 petitions, family-based immigration, and consular processing (CP).
- Familiarity with USCIS procedures, consular processing, and other family-based immigration applications is highly preferred.
- Experience with consular processing (CP) cases and understanding of the immigrant visa application process outside the United States is essential.
- Previous experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in another legal capacity.
- Proficiency with case management software and other legal tools.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
