Job Description

About Lume and Mando

Founded in 2017, Lume is a transformative personal care brand on a mission to normalize body odor beyond pits and provide people with outrageously effective solutions so they don’t have to think twice about odor. We are pioneers of the whole body deodorant category, with a portfolio of odor-blocking products including anti-perspirants, aluminum-free deodorants, body washes, body creams, cleansing bars and laundry sprays. Lume products are OB/GYN developed, made with skin-safe ingredients that are gentle enough for the most sensitive parts and often referred to as “life-changing” by our customers. In late 2022, we launched a men’s line called Mando, bringing our expertise to the men’s personal care category. From whole body deodorants to body washes, our product offerings arm men with the confidence to show up as their best selves as they move about their busy day.

Lume and Mando is part of Mammoth Brands, the modern CPG company behind category-leading brands Harry’s, Flamingo, Lume, and Mando. Driven by a mission to “Create Things People Like More,” the company is creating a new model—and home—for brands, founders, and talent looking to solve unmet needs, improve peoples’ lives and ultimately change the status quo. Even as we grow, we take extra care to maintain the small, scrappy, entrepreneurial culture that helped to get us where we are today: a company that people like more, that better serves its customers, employees, and community. Mammoth Brands is committed to making a positive impact and donated over $20 million through our network of nonprofit partners to date.

About the Role:

The Sales Manager will play a critically important role in cultivating meaningful relationships, both internal and external, to support the Walmart business. This customer-facing position will be responsible for developing and managing retailer partnerships across both our Walmart US and Walmart CA businesses. For this role, we need a strong customer development leader who understands customer needs and requirements, while translating and executing the Lume vision in retail. As this role works across almost all Lume functions, we need a team player who can collaborate across functions, develop strategies, and effectively communicate across teams to enable partner functions to meet and exceed customer expectations. This role also requires strong organizational skills, analytical capabilities, and a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Manage customer development, sales analytics, and forecasting needs, as well as project management and strategic execution at retail.
  • Ensure operational excellence across all merchandising and marketing elements of Lume at retail, including, but not limited to, omnichannel experiences, forecast accuracy, marketing activations, and demand planning.
  • Manage brand P&L for your customer, including Trade Spending and Operating Expenses.

These might describe you

  • You have 5+ years of industry-specific experience in CPG sales, marketing, and/or retail, including previous experience working directly with Walmart.
  • Professional, enthusiast, a solid team player, and possesses a drive for results.
  • A leader with a demonstrated track record for exhibiting an entrepreneurial spirit, strong sales fundamental capabilities, and success in delivering top and bottom-line results in a business development capacity. This should include P&L management, forecasting and operations, and the creation of in-store sales programs.
  • Customers at the core: a passion for driving great customer and retail partner experience, ability to think outside in from the start.
  • Extremely organized, dependable, and demonstrated track record of delivering top and bottom-line results in a customer development capacity.
  • Partner first, someone who is a natural collaborator, brings people in, listens, and helps facilitate the best answer. You are always thinking about how to help the teammates around you excel.
  • Loves change: able to figure it out when faced with a situation that requires invention and leans into changing direction and demands.
  • Fail forward: willing to take risks, use facts to guide a decision across a collective group.
  • You are a learner - always seeking to improve yourself, your team, and the world around you.
  • You thrive on direct, honest, and supportive communication.

Who you will work with

  • Internally: Your primary connections will be with Retail Sales Strategy & Analytics, Lume Marketing, Demand and Supply Planning, Finance and Fulfillment.
  • Externally: You will work closely with retailer buying teams and cross-functional partners, including Marketing, Planning, Inventory and In-store design. You will be a primary point of contact for Lume at your respective accounts.
  • You'll report to the Sr. Sales Manager for the Walmart Channel, Lume.

That said, our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total rewards package, which also includes a comprehensive set of benefits and our equity program. The base salary hiring range for this position is $105,000-$120,000, but the final compensation offer will ultimately be based on the candidate’s location, skill level and experience.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
