Job Description

Harbor is seeking a General Ledger Senior Associate Consultant to join our growing legal technology team. Playing a key role in client engagements involving the 3E application, providing consultancy skills for new and existing implementations focusing on General Ledger functionality, the Senior Associate Consultant plays a pivotal role. The role builds strong customer relationships with key individuals and teams across Harbor and our clients. You will meet with various clients to understand their requirements, identify and understand a problem or issue, and provide appropriate feedback and resolutions. This could be working with several others on a large project such as a 3E Cloud implementation, or it could play the sole role on a project focusing on a specific GL related task, such as FX Revaluation.

A successful General Ledger Senior Associate Consultant excels at collaborating with business and technology leaders to deliver solutions that help clients maximize their investment. The Senior Associate Consultant demonstrates strong technical knowledge, the ability to articulate and provide solutions to issues, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, client-facing environment where there is often a time imperative to provide a solution. This is fully remote position that can be worked anywhere in the UK, USA or Canada.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake short or long-term projects to address a variety of issues and business requirements.
  • Identifies, assesses, and manages risks to the success of the project.
  • Has effective control, leadership, and responsibility for the defined scope of the projects assigned to them
  • Develops and leads the process for dealing with rapid / major change
  • Ensures the communication channels and processes are in place to notify the relevant people so that plans can be amended, and the necessary action taken to rectify issues
  • Provides thought leadership on appropriateness of tools and process to project goals
  • Modifies personal approach and style to reflect changing circumstance
  • Plans and manages project activity to maximize commercial return, ensuring a focus on minimizing lost and non-billable time

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the legal industry with proven experience in a consulting role working in or for law firms
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and experience working with finance team members on complex accounting issues to resolve
  • Knowledge of business software and IT systems
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • A good listener with the ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse disciplines and to all levels with a client’s organization.
  • Manages their own time effectively to maximize utilization and to balance demands from multiple projects
  • A commercial thinker with the ability to generate work for themselves but also for Harbor at large
  • Ability to work proactively, without close supervision
  • A natural team player
  • Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Flexibility to switch between projects according to business priorities.
