As a Senior Business Analyst you will work with product leaders and development teams to build a deep understanding of customer problems through data driven analysis, translating insights effectively back to the team, organizing work to be done, and contributing towards solutions that realize customer and business value. You will also contribute towards the development,
implementation and coaching of Product Analysis related methodologies, approaches and tools to continuously improve the best way to do product at Xero.
- Leverage networks across Xero to understand how the product fits into Xero's strategy,
- objectives and future
- Collate and analyze customer data to inform product planning
- Lead the translation of customer problem into actionable user stories for the team
- Work with Product Management to manage the backlog to ensure it follows the product roadmap and strategy
- Guide the development and tracking of the product against the product's strategy and the annual and quarterly OKR process
- Foster collaboration across the product team to ensure an effective launch
- Monitor the overall commercial & customer results of the product line, working with other product team members to intervene if required
- Lead the monitoring and analysis of product performance
- Provide support between stages of product development to ensure continuity and cohesiveness, and alignment of product to strategy and roadmap
- Contribute to the development, implementation and training of product practices to continuously improve and standardize the best way to do product at Xero
- Train, coach and upskill team members to build product practice across Xero
- Facilitating sessions and driving recommendations

- Plans, runs, documents and synthesizes user research initiatives using standard frameworks to deliver impactful insights for Xero

- Designs and executes experiments to validate solution options with quantitative and qualitative evidence

- Coaches teams and stakeholders on Xero’s PM ways of working to drive process improvements and build team expertise in best practice
- Leads coordination across products to deliver combinations of releases that collectively solve one or more customer problems
- ● Demonstrate commercial acumen:
- Identifies and estimates market / segment size in terms of potential customers
- Articulates the product’s success criteria in appropriate forums to support team decision-making
- Actively participates in discussions on the commercial, customer and product implications of a team’s work
- ● Do it together:
- Facilitates meetings with predefined structures or scripts (e.g., stand ups, IPM’s, and retro’s) leading to clear actions for a team to progress with
- Communicates effectively as a product evangelist across the entire product lifecycle foster alignment and buy-in to the product vision
- Actively collaborates with other functions to drive successful collaboration on products and outcomes
- ● Explore the data:
- Coaches others in new analytical approaches to generate insights and improve the effectiveness of product decisions
- Teaches others to meaningfully translate information and insights for different stakeholders and audiences
- Collaborates across functions to integrate information from a variety of sources and teams and generate meaningful insights
- Significant experience with agile processes in a software development environment
- Experience in analysing complex data, providing insights and recommendations
- Experience solving complex problems using critical thinking skills
- Experience supporting or developing business analysis related practice collateral and training
- Experience with SaaS product development desired but not a must
- Understanding of the SaaS / Fintech / Accounting industry and / or adjacent sectors relevant to Xero
- Demonstrated experience as a valued team member working within teams to deliver customer / business outcomes
- Demonstrated experience effectively leading a body of work, engaging with and communicating outcomes to stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching and supporting team members
