Job Description

Overview:

Inovalon’s Insights business unit is seeking a Senior Director, Health Economics and Outcomes Research to join its Advanced Healthcare Analytics group. The group works with life sciences companies and other healthcare sectors to quantify and communicate the real-world value of healthcare interventions and to align our clients’ business strategies with the evidentiary demands of an increasingly value-driven marketplace. We are driven by deep subject matter expertise, differentiated and proprietary real-world data assets, and an emphasis on sound business strategy coupled with rigorous research and advanced analytic capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) projects that utilize various standard methodologies i.e. retrospective claims database analysis, pharmacoeconomic modeling, evidence generation strategies; lead cross functional teams to execute on statements of work, interpret results, summarize findings, and advise on strategy;
  • Serve as a principal HEOR subject matter expert within the team and across the Company;
  • Lead the generation of business with new clients and grow business with existing clients, leveraging a network of personal contacts where applicable and working closely with Inovalon’s sales/business development teams;
  • Utilize superior consulting acumen to identify client gaps and opportunities;
  • Responsible for driving team goal achievement around sales, revenue, and project management;
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans;
  • Responsible for project completion, strategic consultation, and for the utilization of best methods to address research needs;
  • Manage project staff in project delivery, particularly client communication, client management, and dissemination;
  • Responsible for final deliverables on projects where serving as a senior expert in terms of accuracy and quality and financial performance;
  • Solve complex client issues in a timely and appropriate manner;
  • Assist in Advanced Healthcare Analytics group management;
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years’ relevant work experience within the healthcare industry;
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience successfully leading teams to sales and revenue goal attainment;
  • Deep expertise in HEOR methodologies, e.g., retrospective claims analysis/observational research, pharmacoeconomic modeling, etc.;
  • Prior consulting experience strongly preferred;
  • Experience analyzing research and conveying findings into vehicles for internal/external distribution;
  • Experience in project management, including tracking budgets, adhering to timelines and client engagement;
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytic skills with the ability to apply knowledge outside of one’s immediate functional area;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to concisely explain complicated concepts to executives within and outside of the firm.
  • Significant and sustained project management experience that includes interacting with and presenting to senior-level executives and/or health policy leaders;
  • Proven situational leadership skills and the ability to motivate and generate enthusiasm with individuals across all levels of the organization;
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills that translate into positive relationships with colleagues and clients;
  • Commitment to working in a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and deepening client relationships;
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytic skills with the ability to apply knowledge outside of one’s immediate functional area; and
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HEOR, pharmacoeconomics, health policy, public policy, healthcare management, public health, public administration, health economics, business administration, law, or relevant discipline; or
  • Master’s degree or PHD in relevant discipline preferred.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time);
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.

Inovalon Offers a Competitive Salary and Benefits Package

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$170,900$220,000 USD
