About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Global Immigration and Mobility Specialist to lead and manage our global immigration and mobility program. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with immigration laws, enhancing employee mobility experiences, and aligning policies with the company’s global growth strategy. You will serve as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders and external vendors, acting as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor in global mobility and immigration practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee and manage all facets of the global immigration program, ensuring compliance with local laws and internal policies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and internal consultant for U.S. and global immigration matters. Guide stakeholders toward informed decisions based on your expertise and recommendations from external legal counsel. We want your perspective on how to most effectively scale as a rapidly growing global workforce.
  • Conduct regular assessments and identify opportunities to improve immigration and mobility policies and processes, to align with company needs, employee expectations, and legal requirements.
  • Partner closely with People Operations, Legal, Talent Acquisition, Finance & Strategy, and People Business Partners to ensure immigration strategies are aligned with broader business goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, candidates, and managers on immigration and relocation topics. Provide timely, high-quality support and guidance throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Coordinate international relocations, including permanent transfers, temporary assignments, and cross-border remote work. Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Finance, IT) to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Manage relationships with immigration and relocation vendors. Oversee the integration of vendor systems with internal HR tools and act as a point of escalation.
  • Collaborate with Finance & Strategy to provide annual budget guidance to budget owners to support effective planning, cost management, and expense tracking.
  • Create and maintain documentation, employee-facing resources, and FAQs to educate and support employees navigating immigration and relocation.

What You’ll Need

  • 4+ years of experience managing global immigration or mobility programs within a corporate environment.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. and global immigration processes, visa types, and compliance obligations.
  • Experience partnering with in-house and external legal counsel and managing external immigration vendors.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple complex processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in and enthusiasm for process improvement, program management, and policy development.

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation packages commensurate with experience, including salary, equity, and where applicable, performance-based pay. Our Talent Acquisition Team can answer questions around dbt Lab’s total rewards during your interview process. In select locations (including Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC, and Seattle), an alternate range may apply, as specified below.
