About the Opportunity
What You’ll Be Doing
- Partner with FCC program leads and Compliance Product developers to contribute to the definition and execution of the compliance technology roadmap for transaction monitoring, including platform enhancements, model improvements, and advanced analytics.
- Lead independent testing, validation and oversight of TM models that monitor both fiat and crypto transactions, including rule-based scenarios, ML-enhanced TM models, and alert suppression logic
- Identify strategic opportunities to improve TM model explainability, data pipelines, and typology coverage through collaboration with Product, Engineering, and FCC leadership
- Develop and execute testing strategies to assess model fitness, typology coverage, Type I and Type II errors, and regulatory defensibility in partnership with TM leads
- Partner with Product and Engineering to review model design and to provide credible challenge related to model design and model implementation, while maintaining independent oversight
- Monitor ongoing TM model performance and suggest enhancements to the firm’s TM model monitoring framework
- Define and oversee FCC-critical data quality monitoring for TM models; lead cross-functional remediation of data quality issues impacting TM performance
- Develop frameworks and collaborate with product developers and FCC leads to produce reports and documentation to support regulatory readiness for examinations (e.g., NYDFS, BitLicense, HKMA, MAS, FCA etc.)
- Maintain thorough model documentation and audit trails, ensuring full transparency for internal and regulatory stakeholders.
- Review model changes, enhancements, and results of periodic reviews; advise on governance best practices and risk mitigation strategies.
- Support responses to internal audits, regulatory reviews, and external examinations related to model risk.
- Stay abreast of emerging regulatory expectations and industry best practices related to TM model governance and validation
- Support the strategic evolution of the firm’s TM technology and data architecture in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
What We Look For In You
- 8+ years of experience in FCC/AML compliance, FCC model validation, compliance technology, or related domains
- Experience with blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM, Elliptic) or familiarity with on-chain data and smart contract transaction patterns
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related quantitative field.
- Deep understanding of transaction monitoring models and systems, including rule-based TM and ML-enhanced TM
- Strong familiarity with AML typologies, typology coverage testing, and regulatory expectations for TM effectiveness
- Experience conducting model validation and/or model risk management in a highly regulated environment
- Strong understanding of compliance-critical data management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks
- Deep expertise in a wide range of programming languages like Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, C#, C++, and experienced with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Metabase)
- Proven ability to develop and communicate complex validation findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders (Compliance, Product, Engineering, Risk, Internal Audit)

- The salary range for this position is $143,000- $257,000
- The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition to the salary, a performance bonus and long-term incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
