About the Role
The Experimentation team at Stitch Fix is at the heart of innovation, leveraging cutting-edge data science techniques to drive decision-making across the company. We help design, execute, and analyze experiments to uncover actionable insights, evolve product offerings, and deeper customer engagement.
As an experienced people manager and experimentation expert, you will lead a team of data scientists and platform engineers. Together, you will advance the continuous evolution of the experimentation process and platform at Stitch Fix. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders - product managers, data scientists, frontend engineers, platform engineers, financial analysts, business leaders, and more - to drive alignment for our experimentation platform strategy and continue pushing it forward.
This role is on a high-visibility team and will be involved in driving impactful projects from day 1. This role reports to the Director of Data & Analytics within the Technology organization.

- Shape the architecture and capabilities of the central experimentation platform at Stitch Fix
- Set the standard for how experiments are planned, designed, and interpreted
- Consistently research and evaluate new methodologies and technologies in experimentation and implement them at Stitch Fix
- Consult on complex statistical analysis for partners across the business
- Develop roadmaps for and own highly visible, high-traffic, production systems.
- Work on all aspects of systems, from services to backend data stores to analytics and logging.
- Build a culture of technical collaboration and scalable, resilient systems.
- Work with bright and kind colleagues who are passionate about their craft.
We’re excited about you because…
- You have 8+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on experimentation and causal inference.
- You have 3-5 years of experience leading a team, with a focus on engineering or experimentation.
- You are proficient in Python and SQL.
- You have a strong understanding of experimental design, A/B testing, and statistical analysis techniques.
- You have platform engineering experience preferably experimentation platform.
- You possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- You have knowledge of machine learning techniques and their applications in experimentation.
- You possess exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
- You have experience working autonomously and taking ownership of projects.
- You possess a rigorous focus on simple solutions that yield business impact.
- You have strong experience building out scalable, distributed, and production systems.
- You have the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical business partners alike, and who are interested in building strong cross-functional relationships.
- You possess the desire to question the status quo and promote innovative solutions to challenging problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related discipline.
Experience working in the e-commerce or retail industry.
Knowledge of Golang and full stack development experience.
Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark.

Compensation and Benefits
This role will receive a competitive salary, benefits, and equity. The salary for US-based employees hired into this role will be aligned with the range below, which includes our three geographic areas. A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, location, and performance.This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance.
