Job Description

Join Our Journey at Engine

At Engine, we’re revolutionizing work travel. Our modern travel platform isn’t just about booking trips; it’s about transforming how businesses and their teams experience travel. From seamless booking options with top airlines, hotels, and car rental providers to single-invoice billing and flexible trip modifications, we make travel not only easier to manage but also enjoyable. Backed by powerhouse investors like Telescope Partners, Blackstone, Elefund, and Permira, we’re growing fast—and we want you to be part of it.

As Sr. People Partner, you will be a strategic thought leader and trusted advisor to senior leaders. You will play a critical role in shaping our organizational design, driving people strategies that align with business objectives, and fostering a high-performance culture during a period of rapid growth. In this role you will leverage people data, influence key decisions, and directly impact the success of the groups that you support.

Your Mission:

As part of the Engine team, you’ll play a vital role in an environment where innovation meets collaboration. Here’s what you’ll take charge of:

  • Strategic People Leadership:

    • Partner with senior leaders to understand their business objectives, challenges, and talent needs.
    • Provide expert guidance and coaching to leaders on complex organizational issues, change management, and talent development.
    • Proactively identify talent gaps and develop strategies to help scale teams.

    Data-Driven Insights & Analytics:

    • Utilize people analytics and data to identify trends, anticipate organizational issues, and inform strategic decisions.
    • Develop and present data-driven recommendations to senior leadership on talent management, compensation, and other people-related initiatives.
    • Partner with our People Operations and Analytics teams to enhance our people reporting and ensure data integrity.

    Talent Management & Development:

    • Collaborate with our People Enablement team to identify leadership and employee development needs within your client groups.
    • Coach and consult with leaders on performance management best practices, career development conversations, and building high-performing teams.
    • Support the creation and implementation of career frameworks and progression paths to foster internal mobility and growth.

    Operational Excellence:

    • Drive the execution of core People programs and initiatives within your client groups, including performance management, compensation cycles, and employee relations.
    • Act as a first line of support to employees and managers on employee relations issues. Address and resolve employee concerns, performance challenges, and conflicts while maintaining a positive workplace culture.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and company policies.

What You’ll Bring to Engine:
We’re looking for someone who’s ready to make an impact and grow alongside us:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR/People Partner experience, preferably with at least 3 years in a strategic People Partner role within a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Proven expertise in organizational design, workforce planning, and change management within a rapidly evolving business context.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to navigate complex people issues and resolve issues quickly.
  • Comfortable in a rapidly changing environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and pivot as needed.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, performance management systems, and other HR-related tools. Experience with data analysis and reporting is a plus.
  • Experience working in tech, SaaS, or start-up environments is highly preferred. A deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in a growing tech company is key.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field. HR certification (e.g. SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
