💼 The Team
If you love driving ambitious PR strategies, have experience doing this in markets outside of the UK and are passionate about what Monzo is doing, this could be the role for you! We're looking for an experienced PR professional to join our team as a Senior PR and Communications Manager for Expansion Markets to help us bring Monzo to more people in more places.
You will have strong experience managing successful PR activities and campaigns in markets beyond the UK and will be working closely with Monzo’s leadership team as well as across the business with teams including marketing and engineering to product, to devise and execute on PR strategies that support business goals and showcase the best of Monzo in other markets. You'll need to be an exceptional communicator and a strong collaborator with the ability to multitask.
This role is for a strategic planner and doer, you see the big picture but are not afraid to get your hands dirty and approach projects in a collaborative manner.
You'll report to the VP of Communications and join a growing team which includes a Director of Corporate Communications, two Senior PR and Communications Managers, a Senior Corporate Communications Manager and two PR Managers.

- Leading and executing our go-to-market PR strategy for Monzo in markets outside the UK.
- Driving high-impact PR campaigns for new consumer product launches and brand and reputation-building campaigns in expansion markets
- Acting as a strategic advisor to senior leaders on external communications, media engagement, and storytelling.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with product, commercial, and operations teams to uncover and amplify compelling PR opportunities.
- Setting the strategy and structure for growing an international PR team aligned with local market dynamics.
- Building strong relationships with key media and journalists, while managing incoming press enquiries.
- Using data and insights to inform and adapt strategy for our international expansion efforts.
- Overseeing and managing relationships with external PR agencies and where appropriate, direct reports.
- Staying ahead of industry and relevant policy trends and developments to inform strategy and maintain thought leadership.

- A track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong experience working with and managing external agencies across multiple markets.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

- Demonstrated creativity and impact in delivering standout PR campaigns.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- (Nice to have) Familiarity with financial regulation and navigating comms in a regulated space.
