Job Description
At Mercury, we believe moving money should feel seamless, powerful, and even a little magical. Our Payments Group makes moving money with Mercury fast, reliable, and surprisingly delightful, powering every payment with the scale and systems our customers and teams can trust.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to create fast, intuitive, and reliable payment experiences that businesses trust to move their money every day. This is a senior individual contributor role with full-stack ownership, driving user-facing flows while bringing a strong understanding of backend systems and partner integrations.
You’ll own a core area within our Payments Group, partnering closely with engineering, design, operations, data, and our partnerships teams. Your work will shape products that set a high bar for modern business payments: seamless to use, resilient under the hood, and trusted by thousands of customers.
*Mercury is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services provided through Choice Financial Group, Column N.A., and Evolve Bank & Trust, Members FDIC.
What you’ll do
- Drive meaningful outcomes: Lead end-to-end execution of payments projects that improve speed, reliability, transparency, and user trust.
- Simplify complexity: Identify and reduce friction in customer-facing flows, clarify what’s happening behind the scenes, and build systems businesses can count on.
- Prioritize what matters: Use customer feedback, support insights, and product data to focus your efforts on areas that deliver measurable value.
- Champion excellence: Advocate for thoughtful, high-quality payment experiences, and bring alignment across stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly: Translate complex technical decisions and regulatory tradeoffs into product strategies that are easy to understand and act on.
What sets you up for success
We’re looking for a seasoned product manager with a generalist mindset, deep payments experience, and a strong sense of craft. You care about how things work and how they feel to use.
- 7+ years of product management experience in fintech or payments.
- Strong understanding of domestic and international payment systems, including ACH, RTP, domestic and international wires.
- Proven ability to ship high-quality payment products grounded in customer needs.
- A strategic thinker who’s comfortable working across both infrastructure and experience layers, and who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to get things done.
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to work across functions and levels of seniority.
- A strong eye for detail and a natural drive to create experiences that feel polished, trustworthy, and clear.

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
