Reporting to the Director of PMO & QA, the Senior Project Manager will oversee medium-to-large IT projects, including CRM and web development initiatives for internal and customer-facing products. They will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and meet quality objectives.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and time management skills as well as a proven track record for effectively managing CRM and Web development projects for both internal and customer-facing engagements. This individual should be passionate about achieving the customer’s goals and building a collaborative partnership through strong leadership, while also supporting internal product and department initiatives and resources.
Responsibilities Include:
- Successfully manage multiple IT projects (CRM/Web development) simultaneously, through the entire lifecycle from initial planning to close out.
- Report project status to key stakeholders and managers, including percent complete, milestone attainment, budget-vs-actual, schedule, issue resolution, and risk mitigation.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal project team members, and cross-functional contributors.
- Escalate issues in a timely and tactful manner and engage the necessary contributors and approvers to identify and execute resolutions while using good judgement and sound reasoning in making decisions.
- Identify project risks and create mitigation plans as well drive change management to ensure full project transparency and visibility.
- Proactively manage customer expectations and document all changes in scope, schedule, and resource/investment.
- Facilitate discovery, documentation, deliver, and customer acceptance of software configuration and potential enhancements to be submitted to Product Management.
- Timely review and approval of team members’ time and expense entries.
- Assist in department capacity management to ensure projects are properly resourced to meet deadlines and consultant utilization is optimized.
- Actively participate in the review and enhancements of PMO practices, contributing to process improvements, documentation, and collaboration that drives the overall success of the team, PMO, and company.
What We Look for In You
Must Haves
- A bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, or Project Management.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of IT Project Management experience for medium to large CRM/Web development projects.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies, including Scrum, with hands-on experience in backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with cross-functional teams including management, quality assurance, developers, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and IT project management tools (Azure DevOps is a strong asset).
- Strong client-facing skills with a track-record for building trust, collaborative teams, and managing client expectations at all organizational levels.
- Risk management expertise, including the ability to foresee potential roadblocks, proactively mitigate them, and handle project crises with effective and implementable solutions.
- Experience in managing project budgets, tracking financial performance, and ensuring cost-effective project delivery.
- Excellent time management skills coupled with disciplined work habits with the ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Proven leadership experience in guiding team members and managing third-party vendors and stakeholders, while being equally comfortable working independently or within a team environment to drive project success.
- Project Management certification or education specialization (CAPM, PMP, Scrum Master) required, with a focus on demonstrating a deeper commitment to the field beyond initial schooling.
- Strong conflict management, resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Nice-To-Haves
- Experience in ERP software management.
- Experience working with Municipal governments or local municipal organizations.
- Strong experience in Iterative/Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Familiarity with other project management tools (JIRA, Trello, Wrike, etc.)
- Technical background is an asset.
- Knowledge of organizational and PMO principles and practices.
