Internationalization at Pinterest is not just responsible for translation, but for cultural adaptation of everything related to the experience with Pinterest product, websites and marketing assets to provide Pinners and partners with an experience that feels local. We care about linguistic excellence, scalable solutions and a friendly team environment.

We are currently looking for a Senior Program Manager experienced in marketing localization to help Pinterest achieve our full potential in international markets. You will work closely with various stakeholders: global and regional marketers, creative teams, and vendors to shape the experience of millions of Pinners around the globe.

As a Senior Internationalization Project & Program Manager, you will take ownership of leading the localization and cultural adaptation efforts within your designated program, ensuring Pinterest’s content is tailored for audiences around the world. Your role will be pivotal in developing and executing strategies to maintain efficient and effective localization processes. By collaborating with a broad range of internal teams and external partners, you will help shape meaningful and locally resonant experiences for millions of Pinners. Your expertise will advance Pinterest’s internationalization goals by representing global perspectives in cross-functional and company-wide initiatives, and by continuously driving process improvements within your program to support Pinterest’s international growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Independently lead an assigned localization program that aligns with company objectives, thoughtfully considering user needs, market trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Lead the planning and execution of localization activities for your program, including defining processes, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and overseeing the localization workflow from project initiation to content launch.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external teams to align on localization strategy, project plans, and schedules, ensuring coordination and efficiency throughout the process.
  • Communicate proactively with cross-functional partners, providing visibility into program roadmaps, updates on progress, and clear communication on risks and changes.
  • Represent the Internationalization team and champion the needs of global users, working to ensure that international perspectives are reflected in program outcomes.
  • Advise and educate Pinterest stakeholders on internationalization and localization best practices, leveraging your domain knowledge and technical expertise.
  • Design and implement scalable localization frameworks to enable continuous process improvement and operational excellence within your program.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in localization program management: At least 5+ years managing localization projects and programs, ideally in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Proficiency with translation management systems (TMS) and CAT tools: Comfortable using industry-standard platforms to oversee complex workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of localization best practices: Familiarity with quality standards, workflows, and processes that ensure effective global content delivery, especially with multimedia and web content.
  • Experience collaborating with marketing teams in a highly cross-functional setting: Demonstrated ability to execute complex localization initiatives in partnership with marketers and creative teams, especially related to business marketing.
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills: Able to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical mindset: Consistently applies a keen eye for detail while analyzing data and identifying trends to drive workflow improvements.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities: Skilled at anticipating challenges and developing creative solutions to overcome obstacles efficiently.
  • Multilingual proficiency: Fluency in a second (or additional) language.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2x/ year and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
