What you get to do:

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability, availability, and performance of our AWS platform. You will work closely with development, platform, devops and SRE teams to ensure that systems are designed for reliability and scalability from the ground up.

  • Continuously improve the observability of our tech stack by evolving the use of logs, metrics, tracing, dashboards and alerts.
  • Develop and maintain service level objectives (SLOs), service level indicators (SLIs), and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to respond to incidents and outages and troubleshoot incidents based on observability metrics.
  • Partner with other engineers to troubleshoot issues in production and other environments, opportunistically improve observability and automation
  • Plan the growth of OppFi’s infrastructure.
  • Monitor infrastructure using SRE tools, and suggest tools as necessary
  • Write terraform, yaml, and scripts to fully automate the deployment of services and environments.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cameras-on team to promote a healthy remote work environment
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate and to discuss differing opinions to arrive at the best solution
  • Experience with at least one log / metrics / alerting tool such as DataDog, Sumologic, FluentD, Prometheus, ELK, or Splunk
  • 3+ years of experience:
    • with at least one cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
    • deploying to Linux-based environments
    • with at least one IAC / CM tool such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SaltStack
    • with at least one container orchestrator such as Kubernetes, ECS, or Swarm
  • Familiarity with at least one CI / CD tool such as GitHub Actions, Spinnaker or CircleCI
  • Fluency in at least one non-Bash programming language such as Python, Ruby, Go, JavaScript / Node.js, Java, C#, or C/C++
  • Bonus experience: PostgreSQL, Security Scanning Tools, AWS Multi-Region configuration

In addition to base pay, the total compensation package includes eligibility and potential for performance-based bonuses and equity grants dependent upon the role and job level.
