Job Description

Position Summary

The Service AI Transformation Team turns existing document data into AI‑powered services and integrations that streamline workflows across Natera’s clinical, commercial, and operational domains. As a Software Engineer III, you will implement features across the stack in a small, highly autonomous squad, applying modern serverless patterns, event streaming, and generative‑AI techniques to deliver reliable, scalable capabilities.

Responsibilities

Core Engineering

  • Implement event‑driven transformation workflows and service integrations with AWS Lambda, Step Functions, S3, EventBridge, SNS/SQS, and Fargate, delivered through Infrastructure‑as‑Code (CDK or Terraform).

  • Leverage cloud‑based foundation‑model APIs + LangChain/Langraph: Build AI transformation pipelines that orchestrate prompts, generate embeddings, and implement Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns.

  • Develop internal tooling and dashboards with React/Next.js backed by GraphQL APIs.

  • Integrate with Kafka streams to exchange messages with domain microservices.

Quality & Reliability

  • Contribute to AI‑focused testing—prompt regression suites, hallucination detection, evaluation harnesses—alongside unit, integration, and load tests.

  • Instrument services with CloudWatch and Datadog and participate in CI/CD pipelines to ensure robust observability and dependable releases.

Collaboration & Growth

  • Work closely with senior engineers and Product to break down requirements into well‑scoped technical tasks.

  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to continually improve team velocity and quality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production cloud services.

  • Solid experience with AWS serverless architectures and event‑streaming patterns (Kafka).

  • Proficiency with TypeScript/JavaScript, React/Next.js, and GraphQL.

  • Hands‑on experience with LangChain/Langraph, prompt engineering, and RAG patterns.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (CDK/Terraform).

Preferred / Bonus

  • Experience in healthcare, genomics, or other regulated domains.

  • Exposure to vector search and semantic similarity techniques.

  • Understanding of data privacy and compliance standards such as HIPAA.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
