Sr. Staff Product Manager, Bidding Solutions
Job Description
About Pinterest:
Millions of people around the world come to our platform to find creative ideas, dream about new possibilities and plan for memories that will last a lifetime. At Pinterest, we’re on a mission to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love, and that starts with the people behind the product.
Discover a career where you ignite innovation for millions, transform passion into growth opportunities, celebrate each other’s unique experiences and embrace the flexibility to do your best work. Creating a career you love? It’s Possible.
The Ads Quality team helps Pinners move from inspiration to action by showing the right ad at the right time. We are at the core of the entire ads system optimizing for Pinner, Advertiser, and Pinterest value. Modules present a foundational shift in how we curate and personalize the ads experience for our users, providing them with meaningful content variety to help them opt into an experience that they will love. The output of this work will both be highly impactful (driving measurable value for Pinners and Advertisers) and highly visible (your launches will change the way the app looks and feels), and will critically contribute to our mission of helping hundreds of millions of people find the inspiration to create a life they love.
The ideal candidate has a passion for delighting our Pinners and strong intuition about what matters most to their experience. In addition, they must possess a deep understanding of the ads delivery systems, the interaction effects of introducing qualitatively different content onto the page, and tradeoff dynamics of the ads marketplace.
What you’ll do:
- Own the strategy and execution for how ads appear on the page by developing and launching thematic modules that help nudge users toward high value actions in a way that is minimally disruptive for those who choose to continue to explore the grid. You will (i) articulate the strategic vision for how modules and other large-format affordances integrate into our broader ads monetization strategy, (ii) develop the roadmap for module themes and placements, and (iii) drive end to end execution to ensure that our ads delivery systems effectively bring modules onto the page.
- Partner closely with teams of engineers, machine learning experts, data science, product marketing, design, and more to bring these new Pinner experiences to life. You will act as the single point of contact across backend and frontend teams in ads delivery, as well as cross functionally with stakeholders across the company. This will require a deep understanding of the ads delivery stack, as well as
build technologies, systems, and products that fundamentally improve the Pinner experience and business impact of Pinterest Ads. - Build a comprehensive suite of ads modules that fundamentally change the way Pinners engage with the app, empowering them to opt into the experiences that suit them best and growing the value we create for our Advertisers.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of experience working in digital advertising as a Product Manager, Engineering Manager, Data Scientist, or related role.
- Strong evidence of the ability to define new products and strategies in an ambiguous space and to execute from ideation to go-to-market.
- Strong ability to empathize with, anticipate the needs of, and effectively collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of business metrics and tradeoffs in the contexts of online marketplaces.
- Preferred but not required: Experience with Ads Marketplace and/or Ads Formats.
- Preferred but not required: Direct experience with and fundamental understanding of ads delivery systems.
- Preferred but not required: Design, run, or analyze marketplace experiments.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Relocation Requirement Statement:
- This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
- We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
- This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips
Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
