The Team:

Upstart’s lending partnership team is growing, and we are excited to hire a Strategic Account Executive who can help us take loan sales to the regional bank market to the next level.

As a Strategic Account Executive at Upstart, you will be responsible for loan sales into the regional bank market. You will work closely with a cross functional team to develop and engage regional banks on large loan transactions. You will report to the VP of Sales, and you will work closely with executives across the company to execute on high visibility transactions.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Engage targeted banks in discussions around loan sales.
  • Develop a network in banks and related organizations to drive more engagement target market.
  • Partner with business development teams at Upstart to advise on campaigns to generate interest.
  • Partner closely with solutions consulting teams at Upstart to build a compelling business case for banks.
  • Close new transactions with the target market

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of complex loan sales experience to banks or credit unions
  • Strong network in the industry to generate demand
  • Ability to self-start and operate independently without a lot of day to day supervision
  • Strong understanding of how and why banks will want to partner with Upstart
  • Experience in using AI to optimize your selling process

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in loan sales
  • Deep bench of contacts to leverage
  • Understanding of bank balance sheet strategy

  • This role is available in the following locations: Remote

Time zone requirements

  • The team operates on the East/West coast time zones.

Travel requirements

  • As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions’ cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2-4 consecutive days at a time.

At Upstart, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. The anticipated annualized base salary for this position is expected to be within the below range. Your actual base pay will depend on your geographic location–with our “digital first” philosophy, Upstart uses compensation regions that vary depending on location. Individual pay is also determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

In addition, Upstart provides employees with target bonuses, equity compensation, and generous benefits packages (including medical, dental, vision, and 401k). Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. The salary listed below for sales roles is On Target Earnings which includes both salary and commission, assuming 100% target achievement.
