Job Description
The big picture: Axios is a media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We are hiring an Account Manager, Client Success to support our advertising team!
Why it matters: Working closely with multiple cross-functional teams (client partnerships, creative house, events, brand journalism, and ad operations), the Account Manager will support our advertising partners by developing and executing a wide range of campaigns across the Axios product suite. You’ll also work with your Client Partnerships colleagues to support media planning, proposals, and renewal activities. A revenue mindset is key, as you will help drive client retention, identify opportunities for growth, and support media planning efforts to maximize long-term value for both the client and Axios.

- Lead post-sale account management for new and existing accounts, delivering best-in-class, turnkey client experiences from kickoff to wrap
- Manage multiple campaigns simultaneously while meeting all deadlines and exceeding client expectations
- Build media strategies that support client objectives and campaign goals
- Develop and implement long-term strategies aligned with team and company goals
- Analyze complex situations and anticipate potential challenges and opportunities
- Use analytics to make data-driven campaign optimization recommendations
Zoom in: Ideal candidates will possess a growth mindset with a drive to learn, embody an entrepreneurial spirit, have a passion for the Axios mission and have the following skills and experience:
- 2+ years of work experience, with 1+ years of digital campaign planning and execution experience in a publisher or agency environment
- History of building and maintaining strong relationships and orchestrating effective communication across a myriad of internal and external stakeholders.
- Outstanding communication, organization, and project management skills with obsessive attention to detail.
- Proficient in identifying problems and formulating effective solutions independently.
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Initiative to take on responsibilities and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to pivot client marketing strategies in response to changing market conditions or organizational needs.
- Proficiency in Google Office Suite (Slides, Sheets, Docs).
- Prior professional experience in account management, customer support, media planning, digital marketing, ad operations, or business development is a plus.
Starting salary for this role is in the range of $70,000 - $80,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
