Turing
AI Applications Architect
Job Description
About Turing
Based in Palo Alto, California, Turing is one of the world's fastest-growing AI companies accelerating the advancement and deployment of powerful AI systems. Turing helps customers in two ways: working with the world’s leading AI labs to advance frontier model capabilities in thinking, reasoning, coding, agentic behavior, multimodality, multilingualism, STEM and frontier knowledge; and leveraging that expertise to build real-world AI systems that solve mission-critical priorities for Fortune 500 companies and government institutions. Turing has received numerous awards, including Forbes's "One of America's Best Startup Employers," #1 on The Information's annual list of "Most Promising B2B Companies," and Fast Company's annual list of the "World's Most Innovative Companies." Turing's leadership team includes AI technologists from industry giants Meta, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Twitter, McKinsey, Bain, Stanford, Caltech, and MIT. The Role
We are seeking an AI Applications Architect to join our technology team. This is a high-impact, hybrid role focused on solution architecture, technical strategy, and client engagement—with additional leadership responsibilities in our internal innovation group, UltraLab.
You’ll serve as a key technology voice in pre-sales and solutioning conversations, designing actionable technical architectures and delivery plans for AI-powered digital applications. You’ll guide internal teams in shaping the “how we deliver it” for client-facing proposals—owning everything from the proposed tech stack to timeline and staffing assumptions.
Once a Product Requirements Document (PRD) is locked and a project moves into execution, you’ll transition into an advisory role—supporting internal delivery leads and maintaining high-level client relationships to ensure strategic alignment, architectural fidelity, and delivery success, and refocus on new opportunities.
In parallel, you’ll play a leadership role in UltraLab, our core prototyping group—shaping technical direction, guiding day-to-day PoC and prototype builds, and identifying opportunities to turn innovative solutions into internal tools, reusable delivery modules or full-scale customizable product offerings.
What You’ll Do
Client Engagement & Solutioning
- Act as the senior technology lead in pre-sales and strategy discussions with clients
- Translate product ideas and strategies into feasible, scalable technical architectures
- Define key proposal elements: architecture, tech stack, timeline, and delivery team sizing
Architecture & Delivery Advisory
- Ensure smooth handoff from solutioning to execution through close collaboration with Delivery Managers
- Remain a senior advisor on active projects, helping maintain architectural integrity and alignment with strategic goals
- Cultivate high-level relationships with client leadership throughout the engagement
Innovation & Productization
- Play a leadership role in UltraLab, our internal prototyping team, guiding the engineering direction and hands-on technical decisions
- Identify high-potential solutions that can be reused across engagements or scaled into customizable product modules
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on productization priorities and go-to-market readiness
Internal Collaboration
- Work with Pre-Sales, R&D, and Delivery teams to shape repeatable, high-quality tech approaches
- Contribute to internal tool development, knowledge-sharing assets, and best practices for solutioning and prototyping
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and guide their practical integration into client solutions
Mentorship & Leadership
- Mentor senior engineers and architects across teams
- Contribute to building a strong, forward-thinking technical leadership culture
Who You Are
- A seasoned technologist with a strong background in software engineering and architecture, ideally with 10+ years of experience
- Experience in technology services or consulting, particularly in solutions delivery—not staff augmentation
- Demonstrated ability to engage with senior stakeholders and credibly represent the technology strategy
- Skilled at bridging product vision and technical execution, translating high-level strategies into concrete, achievable roadmaps
- Experience in AI and modern data/ML stacks is a plus, but not a requirement—what matters most is your ability to integrate emerging tech pragmatically into broader solutions
- Comfortable leading delivery teams while supporting business development and growth
- Strong communicator, both technically and strategically
Bonus Points
- Previous experience at a well-known, technology solutioning or technology services company, focused on creating, building and shipping digital applications for clients
- Exposure to or direct experience with AI/ML-powered platforms, applications and solutions
- Passion for solving complex business problems through technology, not just building systems for the sake of it
What We Offer
- Impactful Work: Build and influence the future of applied AI through real-world deployments and innovation initiatives
- Growth & Learning: Work at the cutting edge of AI in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
- Collaborative Culture: Join a diverse, world-class team with shared values around quality, ownership, and experimentation
- Compensation & Flexibility: Competitive salary, performance incentives, health benefits, and flexible work arrangements
Advantages of joining Turing:
- Amazing work culture (Super collaborative & supportive work environment; 5 days a week)
- Awesome colleagues (Surround yourself with top talent from Meta, Google, LinkedIn etc. as well as people with deep startup experience)
- Competitive compensation
- Flexible working hours
- Full-time remote opportunity

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
