Title: Business Analyst
Direct Manager Title: Senior Director, Managed Care & Communications
The Role:
As a Business Analyst on Unlock Health’s Managed Care team, you will help healthcare providers optimize payor strategies and overall performance through analytics that drive financial sustainability and patient acquisition and retention. You will play a critical role across multiple lines of business, bridging the gap between client business objectives and Unlock’s managed care solutions. A true utility player, your work will range from supporting Unlock’s existing clients to developing new managed care analytic solutions and insights.
We’re looking for a Business Analyst with a consulting mindset, technical acumen, and strong client and internal stakeholder communication skills. We’ll help you gain a strong understanding of our services and how they interact to create client value. You’ll need to be willing to roll up your sleeves to deliver a broad range of business solutions focused on leveraging analytics to support our healthcare-focused business.

What You’ll Do:
- Business Insights:
- Find the “story” in the data and communicate insights with clients and internal team members
- Combine and analyze data sets from multiple sources/platforms such as: client business information, benchmarking data, and publicly available datasets
- Conduct thorough analyses of business problems and leverage our processes and your own problem-solving skills
- Identify issues and initiate independent research to problem solve
- Team Collaboration:
- Participate in cross-functional teams of managed care leaders, finance teams, revenue cycle teams and analysts to execute integrated managed care strategies
- Help create process documentation for the team to ensure successful execution of client projects
- Learn from more experienced team members to grow your skill
- Continuous Improvement (CI):
- Evaluate and recommend process and tool improvements to enhance the overall value of our services
- Collaborate with development teams, product managers, client success teams, and other stakeholders to create positive results for our clients
- Support projects to successful outcomes through communication strategies, analysis and research, and data analytics
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science or a related field
- 1-2 years of proven experience in a Business Analyst or Analytics role
- Healthcare experience required; healthcare consulting firm experience a plus
- Basic understanding of managed care reimbursement structures preferred (e.g., DRGs, CPT codes)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Intermediate proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and basic SQL (or similar tool) for data analysis
- Professional experience with Tableau and SQL, preferred; experience with Snowflake a plus
- Strong analytical, data analysis, and interpretation skills
- A self-starter with a strong sense of curiosity
