Compliance Counsel

Your Mission:

As part of the Engine team, you'll play a vital role in an environment where innovation meets collaboration. Here's what you'll take charge of:

  • Compliance Framework Architect: Craft and execute innovative strategies to build and implement robust compliance programs for our fintech products, ensuring Engine stays ahead in the industry.
  • Cross-Functional Compliance Catalyst: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and business development, to integrate regulatory requirements seamlessly into our technical systems and go-to-market strategies, unlocking new opportunities and delivering seamless experiences for our customers.
  • Regulatory & Risk Navigator: Lead the monitoring of evolving financial services regulations, conduct risk assessments, and manage relationships with regulatory bodies, enhancing efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic Legal Partner: Provide exceptional support and insights to our organization by contributing to commercial transactions, corporate governance, privacy initiatives, and overall legal strategy, ensuring every interaction with Engine exceeds expectations.

What You’ll Bring to Engine:

We’re looking for someone who’s ready to make an impact and grow alongside us:

  • Experience: 3-7 years of hands-on experience in compliance, preferably in financial services or fintech, with a JD degree and State Bar admission.
  • Skills: You’re a problem-solver with a strong understanding of relevant regulations (e.g., BSA/AML, UDAAP, state lending laws, payment regulations), excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build compliance programs from the ground up. You thrive in fast-paced, innovative environments.
  • Tech-Savvy: Bonus points if you have in-house experience at a fintech company or experience with consumer lending, payments, or banking products.
  • Mindset: You’re ready to roll up your sleeves, comfortable with ambiguity, collaborate, and deliver results that matter.

Compensation
Our compensation packages are based on several factors, including your experience and expertise. In addition to a competitive base salary, total compensation may include equity and/or variable pay (OTE). Your recruiter will share your complete compensation package as you move through the process.

Base Pay Range
$180,000$220,000 USD
