Job Description

Join Our Journey at Engine

At Engine, we’re revolutionizing work travel. Our modern travel platform isn’t just about booking trips; it’s about transforming how businesses and their teams experience travel. From seamless booking options with top airlines, hotels, and car rental providers to single-invoice billing and flexible trip modifications, we make travel not only easier to manage but also enjoyable. Backed by powerhouse investors like Telescope Partners, Blackstone, Elefund, and Permira, we’re growing fast—and we want you to be part of it.

Engine is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Conversion Rate Optimization Manager to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for optimizing our digital experiences to drive significant improvements in conversion rates across our platform. You're a self-starter who thrives on digging into data, identifying opportunities, and executing impactful experiments.

We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to challenge the status quo and can strategically prioritize initiatives that will truly move the needle for the business. If you're passionate about leveraging data to unlock growth and can confidently educate others on the nuances of experimentation, we want to hear from you.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the CRO Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive CRO strategy aligned with company OKRs, focusing on improving key conversion metrics across our website, landing pages, and product.
  • Drive Experimentation: Own the end-to-end experimentation process, from ideation and hypothesis formulation to test execution, analysis, and reporting.
  • Curate and Prioritize Ideas: Proactively source and curate experiment ideas from across the organization. Critically evaluate incoming ideas, providing constructive feedback and pushing back on initiatives that don't align with current priorities or have a low likelihood of impact. You're not a "yes person" – you're a strategic partner who champions what works.
  • Educate and Empower: Serve as an internal expert on A/B testing and experimentation best practices. Regularly educate wider teams on topics like statistical significance, p-value, formulating hypotheses, sample size calculations, and the intricacies of multivariate testing.
  • Analyze Performance Data: Deeply analyze user behavior and performance data using tools like Amplitude and Clarity to identify pain points, opportunities for optimization, and trends.
  • Conduct User Research: Utilize user testing platforms such as Wynter to gather qualitative insights and understand user motivations and challenges.
  • Build High-Converting Experiences: Build and test to create high-converting landing pages for a range of campaigns including paid search, content, and more.
  • Provide Strategic Recommendations: Offer strategic UX, content, and design-related recommendations for improving the number of quality leads and conversions.
  • Track and Report KPIs: Analyze and track key performance indicators (KPIs), leveraging performance data to identify optimization opportunities within digital experiences.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Complete in-depth data analysis for website conversion and engagement metrics by channel and source.
  • Competitive Analysis: Research competition and investigate benchmarks to further site conversion rates and design.
  • Socialize Results: Clearly and concisely report experiment results, insights, and recommendations to wider teams, explaining what worked, what didn't, and why.
  • Standardization & Automation: Drive standardization and automation in marketing performance reporting across analysis and reporting deliverables.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience in a CRO-focused role, ideally within a SaaS company.
  • Deep understanding of experimentation methodologies, statistical concepts (e.g., statistical significance, p-value), and A/B/n and multivariate testing.
  • Expertise in web analytics platforms like Amplitude and session recording tools like Clarity.
  • Deep paid media background, from strategy development to performance analysis across PPC, social, and programmatic channels.
  • Experience with user testing platforms such as Wynter.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to educate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, self-starter mentality with the ability to identify opportunities and drive initiatives independently.
  • Ability to challenge ideas constructively and prioritize based on potential impact and strategic alignment.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
