Engine

Director, Product Marketing

Job Description

Join Our Journey at Engine

At Engine, we’re revolutionizing work travel. Our modern travel platform isn’t just about booking trips; it’s about transforming how businesses and their teams experience travel. From seamless booking options with top airlines, hotels, and car rental providers to single-invoice billing and flexible trip modifications, we make travel not only easier to manage but also enjoyable. Backed by powerhouse investors like Telescope Partners, Blackstone, Elefund, and Permira, we’re growing fast—and we want you to be part of it.

About Engine:
Engine is a high-growth travel tech company that simplifies lodging and travel management for businesses. Born out of the success of Traveler’s Haven, Hotel Engine spun out as a standalone platform focused on corporate hotel bookings—serving blue-collar industries often overlooked by traditional travel management companies. We're a closed user group offering exclusive rates, and our ability to deliver cost savings and control at scale has made us the preferred partner for thousands of companies across industries like construction, logistics, and healthcare.

The Role:
We’re looking for a Director of Product Marketing to lead product go-to-market strategy, shape positioning and messaging across our suite of offerings, and partner closely with product, sales, and marketing to drive adoption and repeat engagement. This is a foundational hire, reporting into the CMO, with the opportunity to build the PMM function from the ground up in a company that’s scaling quickly and launching new products with speed.

This role requires someone who is equally comfortable getting into the weeds on product strategy and translating that into compelling customer narratives—especially for an audience that’s not traditionally digital-first.

What You'll Own:

  • Product Launch Strategy: Own and scale our GTM playbooks for new features and products (Groups, Flights, Rental Cars, Partner Hub, Insights+, and more) across both B2B and B2C surfaces.
  • Adoption & Repeat Engagement: Drive usage of newly launched features and increase user penetration within accounts—whether they’re decentralized (self-serve) or admin-led.
  • Segmented Messaging & Positioning: Deeply understand our customer segments (e.g., construction firms, healthcare staffing, logistics providers) and develop messaging frameworks tailored by industry, company size, and buyer role.
  • Solutions Marketing: Translate customer pain points into value narratives, content, and campaign ideas that resonate with our core verticals.
  • Enablement Support: Work in tandem with our robust sales enablement and revenue teams to ensure alignment on messaging, collateral, and training.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Maintain a pulse on the competitive landscape and status quo alternatives (Expedia, Booking.com, internal booking tools) to sharpen positioning and support the sales org.
  • Voice of Customer: Partner with research, customer marketing, and product to gather qualitative and quantitative insights, turning them into actionable marketing strategy.

Who You Are:

  • You’ve led PMM or GTM strategy at a B2B SaaS or marketplace company
  • You have experience owning product launches end-to-end and are energized by high product velocity.
  • You’re comfortable diving into user data, working with PMs, and crafting positioning that sticks—especially for non-digital-native audiences.
  • You’ve built and scaled messaging frameworks for multiple buyer personas and segments.
  • You bring a builder’s mindset—excited to stand up process, frameworks, and collaboration rituals that didn’t exist before.
  • Experience with marketplace, travel, logistics, fintech, or workforce tech is a plus.

Why Join Us?

  • Help shape the future of product marketing at a company with strong traction and bold growth plans—from $120M to $250M+.
  • Build out a core function that directly impacts user adoption, customer experience, and revenue.
  • Join a high-performing, close-knit marketing org (14 and growing fast), with deep investment from leadership.
  • Work closely with a visionary product org and commercial teams that are hungry for PMM partnership.
  • Competitive compensation, equity, flexible time off, and a team-first culture.

The Engine Edge: Perks & Compensation
We believe in rewarding great work with great benefits:

  • Compensation: Competitive base pay tied to role and experience, with opportunities for bonuses, commissions, and equity.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
