Your Role and Impact

As our Senior Director, Total Rewards and People Operations, you will lead the strategy and execution of Apollo.io’s total rewards programs and people operations infrastructure globally. Your team will own the development and execution of our compensation and benefits philosophy, drive excellence in people analytics, and build scalable people operating systems that enable Apollo.io to grow efficiently while delivering a world-class employee experience. This role will also have responsibility for critical areas such as global mobility, immigration, new country expansion, and the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the People foundation and operational strategy at Apollo.io—ensuring our people systems, policies, and programs are future-ready, data-driven, equitable, and aligned with business goals. This role reports directly to the SVP, People and will be a key member of the people leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Total Rewards Leadership: Define and evolve Apollo.io’s global compensation philosophy and strategy, ensuring alignment with company values, competitive positioning, and internal equity.

  • Global Benefits Strategy: Design and manage benefits programs that are market-competitive, scalable, and tailored to regional needs across the U.S., India, Poland, and future markets.

  • People Analytics and Insights: Build a data-driven people analytics function that delivers actionable insights to drive informed talent decisions, workforce planning, and business performance.

  • Global Mobility and Immigration: Oversee immigration strategy and global mobility processes to support cross-border hiring and the movement of top talent.

  • New Country Expansion: Partner with Legal, Finance, and Talent Acquisition to set up compliant and operationally sound HR infrastructure in new countries as Apollo.io continues to grow its global footprint.

  • People Operations Excellence: Own the employee lifecycle and HR operations functions including onboarding, offboarding, employment changes, documentation, and HR systems optimization.

  • Scalability and Systems: Implement and continuously improve people processes and systems that are efficient, automated, and scalable to support rapid growth.

  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure global compliance with employment laws and HR practices, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risk.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Legal, Payroll, Equity, and Talent teams to ensure aligned planning, seamless execution, and a strong employee experience.

  • Employee Experience: Partner with other People team leaders to ensure every touchpoint in the employee journey—from offer to exit—is consistent, equitable, and impactful.

  • Executive Partnership: Provide strategic counsel and data-driven recommendations to the C-Suite and senior leaders regarding compensation, rewards, and workforce planning.

  • Strong knowledge of global employment law, international expansion, and immigration compliance.

  • Experience building and leading people analytics teams or functions that influence executive decision-making.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, scale infrastructure, and drive continuous improvement.

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
