Web/Mobile UI/UX Designer, Brisbane (Contract)

As a Web/Mobile UI/UX designer at Repeat (a wholly owned subsidiary of PlayStation), you will help grow our esports platform used by gamers all over the world. The Web/Mobile UI/UX designer role is a key position within the product team and will drive impact across the business and to users of the live website/mobile app. The role requires using a mix of skills including analysis, product ideation, data, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and evolve the existing UI/UX design of the website and mobile applications to ensure a consistent, high-quality user experience.
  • Design and deliver new user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes that align with business requirements and user needs.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to the existing design system, brand guidelines, and platform-specific (iOS/Android/web) conventions.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to bring ideas from concept to implementation.
  • Own and maintain a library of reusable design components and patterns in Figma.
  • Stay up to date with UI/UX trends, tools, technologies, and best practices to continually improve the design and product experience.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies, contributing design deliverables in line with sprint goals.
  • Translate complex product requirements into intuitive, accessible, and elegant design solutions.
  • Support the creation and refinement of design documentation, including style guides, interaction guidelines, and developer handoff materials.
  • Perform competitive analysis and benchmark user experience against industry standards and direct competitors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design for web and mobile applications (iOS and Android).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design thinking, user flow design, and polished UI for digital products.
  • Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma.
  • Experience working within an established design system, with the ability to contribute to and evolve that system as needed.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility standards, and responsive design.
  • Ability to create user journeys, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.
  • Comfortable collaborating across cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, QA, Marketing) in an agile environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale.
  • Attention to detail, with a passion for delivering pixel-perfect, intuitive, and impactful user experiences.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with front-end development concepts (HTML/CSS/React) to better collaborate with engineering teams.
