Your Mission
As Director of Supply Operations, you will lead the hands-on execution, scaling, and optimization of Engine’s lodging and air supply operations. Your scope spans Availability, Rates, Inventory (ARI), production support, air supply fulfillment, and last-mile partner integrations—functions critical to content quality, booking reliability, and customer satisfaction.
This is a deeply operational leadership role. We’re looking for a builder with the process discipline to scale proven motions, the agility to solve complex challenges in real time, and the ability to dive deep into industry nuances—or quickly get up to speed if new to the sector. You will guide a multidisciplinary team across ARI, air operations, and last-mile enablement, serving as the connective tissue between suppliers, technology, and customer-facing teams. Your mission: deliver seamless, scalable supply operations that power Engine’s growth today, while growing and structuring the team to meet the demands of tomorrow.
Key Responsibilities
Lodging Connectivity & ARI
- Partner with the rest of Supply leadership to align on priorities and translate strategic direction into clear, actionable operational plans for lodging supply.
- Lead day-to-day execution across API and GDS integrations, channel manager connections, ARI management, content performance, and partner support.
- Manage and scale the ARI team focused on rate mapping, content health, onboarding, monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Own inventory quality, booking reliability, and partner implementation timelines.
- Identify and operationalize scalable solutions to improve high-quality, high-coverage lodging supply.
Air Supply Operations
- Oversee daily air fulfillment operations, including GDS configuration, fare/rule loading, ticketing, and workflow optimization.
- Ensure ARC compliance and oversee issuance, refunds, exchanges, and debit memo resolution.
- Operationalize new airline partnerships, translating commercial terms into repeatable processes.
- Support the NDC and air connectivity roadmap with Product, Engineering, and Supply.
- Coordinate with internal and BPO air teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
Last-Mile Enablement & Partner Tech Integrations
- Lead initiatives to resolve and prevent booking and post-booking failures tied to supply operations (e.g., PMS integrations, payment success, property configurations, channel manager settings).
- Collaborate with Technology, Support, and Product teams to reduce downstream customer issues.
- Define and optimize workflows between suppliers, platforms, and servicing teams.
Operational Excellence & Scaling
- Build, lead, and mentor high-performing supply operations teams across functions and geographies.
- Design scalable, automated processes to enable rapid partner onboarding and proactive issue detection.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for lodging and air content performance, fulfillment success, and customer satisfaction.
- Partner cross-functionally with Supply, Product, Revenue, Engineering, and Support to ensure operational readiness for all supply channels.
- Grow and structure the Supply Operations team over time to meet increasing transaction volumes, adding leadership layers and specialized sub-teams as needed to support global expansion.
- Develop the operational infrastructure needed to support global growth and increased transaction volumes.
What You’ll Bring to Engine
- Leadership Experience: 8+ years in operations leadership, ideally in travel supply or a related complex, high-volume industry.
- Operational Mastery: Proven ability to design, implement, and scale operational processes that deliver measurable improvements in reliability, quality, and speed.
- Industry Acumen: Specific experience in lodging ARI, GDS workflows, channel managers, NDC standards, PMS integrations, and other travel supply technologies is a plus—but not required. If you don’t have direct industry experience, the ability to rapidly learn and apply travel-specific nuances will be critical to success.
- Execution Discipline: Ability to take well-defined motions and scale them with rigor, consistency, and high performance across distributed teams.
- Problem-Solving Agility: Comfort diving into complex, ambiguous operational challenges and building structured, sustainable solutions.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, and commercial teams to bridge business strategy with operational execution.
Data-Driven Mindset: Proficiency in operational metrics and performance analysis to inform decisions and optimize outcomes.

Verify Employer Thoroughly
Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.
Never Pay to Get a Job
Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.
Safeguard Your Personal Information
Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.
Scrutinize Communication & Interviews
Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.
Beware of Unrealistic Offers
If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.
Insist on a Formal Contract
Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
