As a Product Manager at dbt Labs, you will work cross-functionally to help guide products from ideation to launch by connecting the technical needs of users and the business needs of our company. You’ll connect the dots between the security needs of analytics engineers to the strategic vision of our company, driving innovation that moves the entire practice of analytics engineering forward.

In this role, you’ll be at the intersection of AI, Security, and Data and help us evolve our Security and Identity platform to meet the complex requirements of large enterprises. You’ll define the roadmap, evolve essential capabilities (Authentication, Authorization, Credential Management), and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless, trusted experience. Your work will influence our expansion across all three major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), powering dbt Cloud’s growth and enabling new AI and Analyst offerings. Ultimately, your goal is to transform dbt Cloud into a secure enterprise-grade platform—a secure, forward-thinking platform that analytics engineers everywhere can trust and adopt without hesitation.

In this role, you will:

  • Shape the Vision & Strategy: Define and execute the goals, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise product initiatives in Identity & Security.
  • Know the User, Market, and Ecosystem: Dive into analytics engineering and security workflows, user requirements, market potential, and competitor offerings.
  • Collaborate & Execute: Partner with engineers, designers, and go-to-market teams to launch new products, refine existing features, and continuously test and optimize user experiences.
  • Inspire the Team: Rally talented colleagues around a shared vision for Identity & Security, ensuring your roadmap aligns with broader product and company objectives.
  • Stay Close to Customers: Create tight feedback loops with our admin stakeholders, evolving the product to meet the security and compliance needs of large organizations.

You are a good fit if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management
  • A track record of building products for Security, Developer, or IT Admin personas
  • Hands-on familiarity with security and identity tools (Okta, Entra, Vault, etc.) and standards (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML)
  • Experience thriving in a fully remote, distributed environment
  • A data-driven mindset—willing to roll up your sleeves to explore the numbers and link them to strategic priorities
  • Proven ability to drive production adoption in enterprise organizations

You'll have an edge if you have:

  • Previous experience working with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Spark, Presto, etc)
  • Previous experience working with dbt for analytics engineering
  • Comfortable discussing, explaining and reasoning about dbt project development best practices

What Does Success Look Like?

  • Immediate Impact: Jump right into team’s ongoing initiatives—like defining dbt’s security model for driving adoption to our new AI use-cases like MCP through next-gen RBAC model and dbt Apps
  • Deep Domain Knowledge: Master complex security topics such as RBAC models, API security, and secrets management, becoming the go-to security leader and expert in the company for our customers and field teams alike
  • Execution & Strategy: Consistently deliver impactful features, stay ahead of security trends, and shape a platform that becomes an industry standard for enterprise security in analytics engineering

Safe Remote Job Search Tips

Verify Employer Thoroughly

Research the company's identity thoroughly before applying. Check for a professional website with contacts, active social media, and LinkedIn profiles. Verify details across platforms and look for reviews on Glassdoor or Trustpilot to confirm legitimacy.

Never Pay to Get a Job

Legitimate employers never require payment for applications, training, background checks, or equipment. Always reject upfront payment requests or demands for bank details, even if they claim it's for purchasing necessary work gear on your behalf.

Safeguard Your Personal Information

Protect sensitive data like SSN, bank details, or ID copies. Share this only after accepting a formal, written job offer. Ensure it's submitted via a secure company system or portal, never through insecure channels like standard email attachments.

Scrutinize Communication & Interviews

Watch for communication red flags: poor grammar, generic emails (@gmail), vague details, or undue pressure. Be highly suspicious of interviews held only via text or chat apps; legitimate companies typically use video or phone calls.

Beware of Unrealistic Offers

If an offer's salary or benefits seem unrealistically high for the work involved, be cautious. Research standard pay for similar roles. Offers that appear 'too good to be true' are often scams designed to lure you into providing information or payment.

Insist on a Formal Contract

Always secure and review a formal, written job offer or employment contract before starting work or sharing final personal details. Ensure it clearly defines your role, compensation, key terms, and conditions to avoid misunderstandings or scams.
